Ignite is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Irvine as Associate. Based in the practice’s Christchurch studio, Jamie has over 10 years local and international experience working predominantly on super prime and multi-unit residential, commercial and mixed-use projects.

Jamie has extensive site and contract administration experience, as well as strong technical and regulatory knowledge. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) and a Masters of Architecture (Distinction), and is a registered Architect in the UK

“Jamie’s career history enables him to quickly understand project issues and arrive at sound technical solutions,” said Neil Wyatt, Ignite’s South Island Regional Manager. “His considerable design skills and depth of knowledge, along with an ability to build close working relationships with clients and stakeholders, are being put to good use in delivering landmark projects such as Hoyts Christchurch EntX.”

Jamie gained a wealth of design inspiration during the seven years he spent living in London, and on his travels around the globe. He believes that architecture should always have strong and relevant conceptual beginnings, reflecting the needs of the client, site, brief and end user. In this way, a clear and strong initial design will always filter down to the finer tactile details of a project.

Christchurch born and bred, Jamie has a strong connection to the region. He is excited by the many opportunities available for the city, and for architects contributing to the rebuild. On the home front, Jamie and his wife are enjoying introducing their young children to a typical Kiwi lifestyle.
