Ignite is pleased to announce the appointment of Milti Stefadouros as an Associate. Milti is a flexible, multi-disciplined architect who has worked on large-scale projects in New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.
A Registered Architect, Milti recently worked on the award-winning Government of Samoa’s new Consulate Office and Fale in Mangere, South Auckland. The Fale building won a New Zealand Timber Design Award in the Interior Innovation Category. As project architect, he was responsible for the design of the consulate building and documentation, construction administration, and observation for the construction of both buildings.
Milti’s new role will be his second experience at Ignite, as he spent several years working with the firm before seeking international architecture experience. His time abroad saw him engaged on projects including the Dubai Metro project, the Al Ghubaiba Ferry Terminal and the Dubai Abra Maintenance Facility in Dubai; and in Brisbane working on a range of commercial projects.
Ignite Director Michael Bilsborough said it was great to welcome Milti back to Ignite. “He will be a valuable addition to our team, strengthening our design and project delivery leadership,” he said.
Inspired by Tadao Ando, Milti is drawn to simplicity in design and the honesty of materials. He believes using the right materials is integral to the success of a design, and that the massing and proportions are key, regardless of the size of the project.
Since returning to Auckland, Milti is busy with a young family but still finds some time to pursue his craft brewing hobby. He finds the satisfaction of formulating recipes and creating the perfect brew mirrors the creative architectural process, but can be enjoyed in a much shorter timeframe.
