Work has now begun on the much-heralded O.K.L.A. apartments in Kaipiho Lane, Albany.

The statement O.K.L.A. (On Kaipiho Lane Albany) apartments on Auckland’s North Shore was launched with a groundbreaking ceremony and cocktail function on June 18.

With its partners Haydn + Rollett and Kingsman Development, a division of high-end developer Luxury Infinity, Ignite is bringing 117 one, two and three-bedroom high-end apartments to the heart of Albany. The eye-catching six-level building will include space for two retail or café tenants at ground level, with apartments boasting clever and flexible spaces to adapt to changing modern lifestyles.

“Albany is already the centre of exponential growth and change, becoming a suburban city, and O.K.L.A. is destined to become a new landmark of its skyline,” says Ignite residential director Michael Bilsborough.

“Now that the work is underway, I’m excited to see it take shape and transform from a concept into a real, vibrant home for hundreds of Aucklanders.”

The unique V-shaped building designed by Ignite’s residential team for Kingsman Development encapsulates the concept of “everyday luxury”, the perfect combination of function and beauty for a location expecting phenomenal future growth.

Its shape allows all apartments to take advantage of natural light, generous balconies or courtyards, with a modernist feel set off by geometric shapes.

“We’re extremely proud of the balance we’ve struck between a design that’s timeless as well as individual,” says Michael.

“It’s a simple but dynamic design that we think will continue to complement the landscape in years to come.”

The apartments are due to be completed by mid-2019. A display suite is already open for viewings.
