SEEING THE COMMUNITY BENEFIT FROM THE WORK WE DO. THAT’S WHAT I’M MOST PROUD OF.
When I was young I was always making stuff, with aspirations to be a painter or sculptor. My family mentors were builders and engineers so there was a strong practical streak too.
After completing my design degree I worked in furniture design and then moved to a marketing career. I’ve looked after the world’s largest photographic brands as well as marketing ICT services and FMCG products during my career. Now that I’m at Ignite I can marry my creativity and personal interests with my business skills, which is really rewarding.
It’s great to be part of a business with a collaborative creative process at its heart, and to be surrounded by people who are passionate about meaningful outcomes. There’s a strong social purpose too, because we consider the benefit we can offer the community together with the commercial value we create.
What inspires me? I love it when you can see the impossible made possible – someone like Elon Musk is a good example. And I’m inspired by the human stories behind these seemingly impossible achievements.
I’m a big believer in getting the mind/body balance right, so exercise and continuous learning are really important to me. I also have a workshop where I make guitars in my spare time. It’s a complicated process and something I can get happily lost in.
