Ignite’s presence in the lower North Island and South Island of New Zealand started with the opening of our Christchurch studio in 2010, followed by the Wellington studio in 2017 and the Queenstown studio in 2019.

We have experienced incredible growth in these regions over the past decade – and our portfolio continues to diversify and expand into new sectors. In response to this demand, we are delighted to share that Associate Director Szymon Gozdzikowski has been appointed Ignite’s Wellington and South Island Regional Manager.

Based in our Christchurch studio, Szymon joined Ignite in 2017 and has played a pivotal role in the expansion of the studio in that time. The new position will see Szymon extend this leadership to the Wellington and Queenstown studios, facilitating strategic growth and nurturing both new and existing client relationships.

“Szymon is an experienced architect and leader, and these skills, combined with his wide network, will play a key role in the future direction of Ignite’s Wellington and South Island presence,” says Principal Grant Armstrong. “He provides the right level of local insight and strategic oversight.”

Szymon is particularly looking forward to supporting the development of the Wellington studio and the continued growth of the Christchurch and Queenstown studios.

“Wellington is a new market for me, and I’m eager to see where we can grow and add value,” he explains. “And we have a dynamic and productive team in the southern regions and being part of the journey is really exciting to me.”

Ignite is proud of the work we do across all corners of the country. This is the next step in strengthening our ability to deliver good design for the communities that our Wellington and South Island studios serve.
