Pepeha, like architecture, is a dynamic process that endeavours to interweave people and place into a cohesive tapestry. Pepeha recognises the holistic relationship between people and the natural environment. Moreover, it embodies foundational principles including whakapapa, kaitiakitanga, manākitanga, and whānaungatanga, all of which live and breath in my architectural approach. As a Māori practitioner, I integrate Te ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori into projects, aiming to be kaitiaki of people and place, fostering manākitanga to create architectural outcomes that intricately overlay the whakapapa of past, present, and future. This approach thrives through partnerships and collaboration among all partners on a project.

“Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini."

My success is not mine alone, but it is the strength of many.

Inspiration

My inspiration comes from my people, my home lands, and my culture. Both images capture my love for my ūkaipō, and for my tūpuna, my whānau, and my future uri to come.
