Defining a strategic workplace for this NZ start-up turned global brand.

Originally a small Christchurch start-up, Ethique rapidly outgrew its existing space and was searching for something larger, with an elevated level of prestige. Now a globally recognised brand, a tenancy within Christchurch’s central Sudima Hotel and Commercial complex was a natural choice. 

Ignite were contracted by the building's landlord to undertake the fit-out, which was complex due to Ethique’s distinctive operational nature. As a global business navigating different time zones, it was important for Ethique to offer their team space to focus, but to also feel connected in the workplace.

The full scope of Ethique’s office fit-out was managed by Ignite’s Christchurch team, ensuring close attention to detail, comprehensive budget tracking and consistent communication with the client, tenant and other stakeholders. Together, this resulted in a workplace of exceptional quality.

The business is spread across two wings, one for the general office and the other for executive office space. The multiple typologies comprise a reception area, product display, executive suites, spacious boardroom, media studio, influencer café and a research and development lab, inclusive of custom-designed workspaces.

The purpose-built media studio is fitted with premium acoustics, imperative for Ethique’s international communication requirements. As part of the health and cosmetics industry, influencer engagement is an important consideration for this workspace– materialised with a dedicated café for a seamless hosting experience.

The custom-built lab allows Ethique’s team to research and test products, allowing the scientific arm of the business to be conveniently located within its headquarters. 

The overarching aesthetic was defined as a classy yet simple office space, that ensured a sleek client experience and workplace for Ethique’s team. Materials

used to meet this brief included natural stone and timber finishes, along with pops of colour that resonate with the brand’s products – carefully balanced with neutral tones throughout.
